The Del Mar Race Track opened up on my wife's b-day so that was not what she wanted to do, thank goodness. The lines the crowds the wait at the bar is not fun for us anymore. I will say that I do like the races. My father told me that the first 10 days or so you should let the horses feel the track and watch the results for that time. There are many systems and theories but I purely enjoy the rush. I read the form the night before I go and ride the roller coaster of g's up and down all day long.
I plan on going to Del Mar every week now that I am retired. My good friend GJ said that Fridays were mine. I have a spot that is fit for for king. I have the absolute pleasure of sharing a box that has been in GJ's family for decades and he now he keeps up with his father's tradition, God rest his soul. I have enjoyed going with him and his mother and father to their ultimate spot in their box right at the finish line. His mother and father were the nicest most genuine people you could ever meet. His dad was truly a mans man and will always be missed. We will continue to smile and have fun and include their memory with every visit.
