"Will u still need me will you still feed me, when I'm 64?" From the Beatles lyrics from back in the day, I honestly didn't think then that I would last that long. Now that I just made it to 68, I don't really feel it is that old. Not for me anyway. I see other people my age that have so many more problems than myself. Sex, drugs and r & r was my mantra for so many decades. I was livin' in the 70's after everyone else had outgrown it. I have lived life in the fast lane and have very few speeding tickets. Does the tree in the forest make a sound when it falls if know one is around to hear it? So the question should be; Is it against the law if you're not hurting anyone and nobody knows. If u run a stop sign at 4 a.m. in a desolate spot, does it go on your record in the big book? I have taken my chances in life and still love to ride roller coasters, the bigger the better!
My birthday falls 2 days after the 4th of July, so I feel the fireworks kick off the begging of my birthday week. I have celebrated many of them at fairgrounds and coliseums. It's no wonder that my own mother was walking up and down the stairs at the L.A. Coliseum just 44 hours before giving birth to me. My father was the building superintendent of The L.A. Coliseum & The Sports Arena. I saw every great sporting event, concert, & rodeo that came to town. I even stood right next to John F. Kennedy (president elect), on the east end of the field . He was just about to give his speech at The Democratic Convention in 1959.
I consider myself very fortunate to still be in this ever changing world of new adventures and pleasures. On my birthday week I shared the new ride, SPEED at The Del Mar Fair with my grandson. I need my G's. The rush was great! The fireworks were awesome too.
